Ka Huna and the experiences at High Spirits Retreat set me on a path of self questioning and exploration that I had never experienced before and brought me out of my little safe haven, hiding away from the world. Even though there has been sadness and major changes in my life, I'm so happy I did follow that little voice in my head and have kept following it to this day. I was slam dunked, it seems, in this place where I am now, accompanied with a fine baggage of tools, wisdom and greater love of self.
As I explored, I soon found and fell in love with Sound Baths, Yin Yoga, and then just recently graduating as a Death Doula. I would never have dreamt that I would be doing what I do now. Who can predict the different twists and turns in ones life, reactions and stagnations that create who we are. Today I am a noisy, bendy, introvert, with warm hands and warm heart.
I also learnt to hold great reverence for change, the life and the death of every moment, in every body, everything, constantly moving through an endless cycle, of a death bringing with it great change, grief and trauma. The one and only constant in life. I'm fascinated by peoples many and varied reactions to change in their life, the fight and the surrender, and how this plays out in the body. I found deep healing for myself, as I trained in these modalities, fighting against a major change in my life at the time, and have become passionate in supporting and offering others a healing that nurtures and allows deep rest and rejuvenation on a cellular level, as they manoeuvre themselves through their own transitions in life.
And so Sakura Healing Therapies was formed. Sakura meaning Cherry Blossom in Japanese. The Japanese practise Hanami each year, watching the impermanence of life as the cherry trees blossom, becoming drunk on the beauty that penetrates all the senses and then witnessing the final stage of life as the petals falls to the ground. Signifying all that was, is and will be, from the life of a single cherry blossom. The beauty of life and death, and the reverence of this natural transition in every living thing.

I spent many years working with children and families who were experiencing some of the most difficult times of their lives, who had experienced trauma, grief, sadness, disconnection and loss. I wanted to support their healing, to help them find their own inner strength, courage, resilience and inner resources.
I started my own journey of self discovery, self knowledge and healing and learnt the importance of healing the mind, body and spirit. I was drawn to hypnotherapy and resource therapy and found this to be a beautiful way to find out who we truly are and to heal what has come before.
I want to share this knowledge and support anyone who wants to find their own inner resources and start their own personal journey of discovery and healing. At Sakura healing therapies I provide a safe, nurturing space for exploration where we can attend to all aspects of our mind, body and spirit.
Sakura Healing Therapies is a locally based service run by three sisters who provide a variety of therapeutic and energetic healing treatments.
